My name is Mark Dragon. For more than two decades, I’ve been exploring music, helping others learn, and searching for ways to make complex ideas more accessible. My background in education, curriculum design, and instructional media has taught me that people learn best when information is organized into practical, understandable systems. That mindset eventually led me to Hybrid Guitar Co.’s -Big 6—an instrument that challenges many of the assumptions we make about guitars, basses, and the way music is traditionally taught.
HG’s Big 6 is a unique instrument that sits somewhere beyond the traditional guitar and bass. When I first started playing one, I assumed I could approach it like either instrument. It didn’t take long to realize that it needed to be understood on its own terms.
Unlike guitar or bass, there are very few instructional resources available for Hybrid Guitar players. There are no widely accepted methods, limited theory materials, and only a small community of musicians exploring its possibilities. Much of the instrument’s potential is still waiting to be discovered.
Dragon Jamz was created to help document that journey.
Here you’ll find chord shapes, scale forms, song charts, theory concepts, and practical applications for the Hybrid Guitar Co.’s Big 6. My goal is to share what I’ve learned, help other players get started, and contribute to the growth of the instrument.
I believe the HGB6 offers an exciting glimpse into the future of portable stringed instruments. As more musicians explore its extended range and unique capabilities, new techniques, sounds, and musical ideas will continue to emerge.
The instrument is still evolving.
So are the players who pick it up.
